DE ESCALATION TEAM MEMBER

We are looking for committed, reliable, patient, and kind individuals to join our team in caring for Brian. Brian lives in an assisted living home called BIG C&S and is accompanied by a caregiver 24/7. He is diagnosed with intellectual disability and high anxiety with autistic behaviors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

​

  • Be patient, respectful, and communicate effectively and respectfully with Brian, other staff members, and the CEO.

  • Have your own transportation and drive carefully.

  • Stay within 5–10 minutes of the main caregiver (east side of Madison).

  • Be available to assist with de-escalating any anxious situation.

  • Complete the required training.

  • Remain calm during uncomfortable situations, use a gentle and reassuring voice, and be attentive to details, mood changes, and triggers that may increase Brian’s anxiety.

  • Having experience providing care for individuals with special needs is not required, but preferred

Shift options: 9 PM-9 AM ($120), 9 AM-3 PM ($150), 3 PM-9 PM ($150)

Note: The 1–5 PM shift requires spending time with Brian and participating in an assigned activity.

MAIN CAREGIVER


EXPECTATIONS

  • Be attentive to Brian at all times

o What is he doing? What might he be thinking? How is he feeling? What’s
going on around him?
The more you know, the better you’re able to provide help and assistance when
needed.

  • Be patient, kind, respectful—and communicate professionally and effectively—at

all times to Brian, other BIG C&S staff, and people within the community.

  • Personal calls and texts should only be responded to or made in urgent

cases—or if absolutely necessary.

  • WORK PHONE (white case, labeled/named MAIN) is to be with you and on at all

times.

  • Keep location sharing on and respond to all texts immediately or as soon as

possible.

  • Complete required daily tasks (documentation, dishes, laundry)

REPORTS &MEETINGS

  • Attend staff meetings, as needed/necessary

 

TRANSPORTATION

  • Must have your own transportation and drive attentively and carefully.

  • All miles driven with/for Brian will be reimbursed at $0.70/mile.

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Complete required on-going training courses. (15 credits)

​

SALARY : 600$/DAY 

SHIFT (7am-7am - Usually 2 days on, 3 days off - can be changed)
